Ferrari F450 – Spy Shots

The last time we ran a story on the new Ferrari F450 was back in March, when we had some decent renderings to show you. In the meantime we have received umpteen spy shots of the new F450, but as they were all mules running the F430 body, they weren’t of that much interest. But these shots of a Ferrari F450 have just dropped in to our inbox – showing an admittedly disguised F450 – but at least this is the actual car.

So what do we see. Well, these shots of make the renderings we ran in March look pretty accurate. Up front we can see headlights running back in to the front wing, which seem to include LEDs. Out back there are round lights at each corner and a triple exhaust pipe. What does all this tell us? Not a huge amount, but it’s fun to speculate!

What we do know is that the F450 is going to be lighter, stiffer and more expensive than the F430. Ferrari are having to reposition the F450 more upmarket – more of a niche car – now the California has taken the bulk of the market as the ‘Cheap’ Ferrari.

Now the F450 is running around in its own body it’s obviously getting closer. Our money is on a laucnh at Frankfurt in September, with the first customer cars turning up in 2010. But it’s likely to start at pushing on £200k, so cheap it ain’t.
