We have a second video tease for the Ferrari F620 (new 599) which shows nothing new. But does the F620 have KERS?
We know the Ferrari F620 (or F620 GT or whatever Ferrari decide to call the replacement for the 599) is going to be revealed on the 29th February, because Ferrari told us so a couple of days ago. Now we get a new video tease for the F620 which tells us…absolutely nothing new.
So all we know for certain is that the F620 will be the most powerful car Ferrari has ever produced and that it will debut officially at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
What we also think we know is that the F620 will get a V12 with as much as 740bhp. But recently there has been talk of perhaps more than 700-740bhp – the best guess range of output for the V12 in the F620 – and we were reminded that the Ferrari HY-KERS from Geneva 201o has patents specifically for a front-engined car (which the Ferrari F70 – which seems set to get a KERS boost to 920bhp – is most certainly not).
So there is a chunk of logic in suggesting that the new Ferrari F620 could be getting a KERS button. Now whether that KERS is going to deliver anything like the 120bhp planned for the F70 is anyone’s guess, but if it does then the F620 is going to blitz the Aventador with anything up to 860bhp in short bursts (740bhp plus 120bhp KERS).
We’ll find out more on 29th February about the Ferrari F620 and whether or not it has KERS – if not before.
