Ford launches ST-Line option with Fiesta ST-Line & Focus ST-Line

Fiesta ST-Line & Focus ST-Line – now on sale in the UK

Ford adds a new range of models badges ST-Line, bringing some of the sporty looks of the ST cars to more prosaic models in the Fiesta and Focus range.

There’s always been room for cars that look like they go a lot better than they actually do (although we have to profess a penchant for the opposite), and Ford are tapping in to that with a new range called ST-Line, which you won’t be surprised to learn stands for ‘Looks Like’, just like AMG Line stands for ‘Looks Like’ AMG (or Vauxhall’s VX-Line or Renault’s GT-Line or…).

The first two recipients of Ford’s sheep in wolf’s clothing makeover are the Fiesta and Focus, with both the Fiesta ST-Line and Focus ST-Line now on sale, and the promise of at least two more ST-Line cars to follow.

Mainly a set of cosmetic tweaks, the ST-Line cars get 17″ alloys, honeycomb grille, a lip spoiler on the Fiesta and a new bumper insert on the Focus, rear diffuser and spoiler, bigger side skirts and ST-Line badging, as well as sports seats with red stitching, a perforated leather ST-Line steering wheel and a smattering of other ST-Line-badged bits.

Ford have said you can only have your ST-Line models, which also get 10mm lower sports suspension, with higher power engine derivatives, so in the Fiesta ST-Line, 3-door or 5-door, you can opt for the 100PS, 125PS or 140PS version of the terrific 1.0 litre 3-cylinder EcoBoost petrol, or the 95PS 1.5 litre diesel, all with five-speed manual gearbox.

On the Focus ST-Line, Estate or Hatch, you can have the 125PS 1.0 litre or the 1.5 litre EcoBoost with either 150PS or 182PS and six-speed manual or auto, as well as the 1.5 litre TDCi with 120PS or 2.0 litre TDCi with 150PS.

Roelant de Waard, Ford Europe Marketing VP, said:

The new Fiesta ST-Line and Focus ST-Line will offer customers a chance to enjoy the famous fun-to-drive characteristics and great looks of Ford’s performance models in an exciting and affordable package with a broad range of petrol and diesel engines – and we will be introducing two further models later in the year.

On sale now at Ford’s UK dealers, the Fiesta ST-Line starts from £15,645 and the Focus ST-Line from £20,595.
