Honda E Urban EV – advanced connectivity and FIVE screens
The new Honda E – Honda’s new retro-inspired urban EV – comes with advanced connectivity and a total of five screens spread across its dashboard.
There’s been no real shortage of information coming on the new Honda E in the last few months, ever since Honda revealed that their Urban EV Concept was turning in to the Honda E for production, and heading for Geneva in prototype guise. In May reservations opened for the Honda E (getting on for 40k so far, it seems), we were told the Honda E will come with door mirror cameras as standard, we’ve had details of the Honda E’s battery, platform and range, how much power it delivers and even first driving impressions.
Now Honda are keen you know that despite the E’s retro-inspired design and its compact dimensions, it is packed with advanced connectivity. And it has five screens slapped across the dashboard.
The Honda E’s full-width dashboard gets five integrated high-res screens, with the door camera screens at each side, the centre camera mirror system delivers images from a rear-facing camera, there’s an 8.8″ instrument display and dual 12.3″ infotainment touchscreens.
There’s swipe control and voice control, independent screen usage for driver and passenger, and Alexa-type “OK Honda” personal assistant, tons of Apps and Smartphone integration through Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.
The Honda E is going in to production before the end of the year.
