Honda Jazz gets a bit of a facelift, new engine and new Jazz Dynamic spec (pictured)
Ahead of a debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Honda reveals a facelift for the Jazz supermini with new engine and new spec options in the mix.
The current Honda Jazz was revealed just a couple of year ago at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show as Honda revealed their new supermini with a more rounded design, a bit more room and a jump in quality for the interior. But just two years on from there Honda is having a go at freshening the Jazz, and perhaps making it appeal to a younger demographic; the Jazz is really the supermini you buy on the way down from your car life – rather than a funky little runaround you buy on the way up.
The actual cosmetic titivations aren’t huge, with a new grille, tweaked headlights, added butch for the front bumper and small changes for the rear bumper, and a new colour – Skyride Blue.
But the big change for the Jazz is the arrival of the Jazz Dynamic spec with front splitter and rear diffuser, fogs, side skirts, spoiler, LED headlights and 16″ gloss black alloys, as Honda tries to make the Jazz more visually appealing to younger buyers.
The Dynamic also gets contrast orange stitching and orange pinstripes in the cabin, as well as leather steering wheel and gear knob.
Cosmetic stuff apart, the Dynamic also gets a new 1.5 litre petrol engine with 128bhp with six-speed manual which, although Honda hasn’t yet decided how quick it is, will be livelier than the Hobson’s choice 101bhp 1.3 litre with five-speed manual the rest of the Jazz models get.
The new Honda Jazz will go on sale at Honda’s UK dealers before the end of 2017, after a public debut at the Frankfurt Motor SHow.
