Hyundai i10 gets a facelift for 2017
The Hyundai i10 city car is getting a makeover for 2017 with cosmetic tweaks and technology upgrades. Debuts at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
It’s exactly three years since the new Hyundai i10 was rolled out at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, which means it’s about due for a bit of a titivate. Step forward the 2017 Hyundai i10, bowing in at this year’s Paris Motor Show next month.
Just as they did when the current i10 was launched in 2013, Hyundai are keen you know that many of its features are really only the norm in the sector above the i10, and it’s a pretty reasonable boast.
The ‘Coming from Above’ stuff includes the latest connectivity, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto built in to the new 7″ touchscreen Navigation, which includes a seven year subscription to LIVE services for real-time traffic, local weather and POI, as well as the location of fixed speed cameras.
Other technology ‘From Above’ comes in the form of Front Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning (although the chances are you’ll turn LDW off – it’s very irritating), with stuff like Air Con, heated steering wheel and front seat heating all in the mix too.
Cosmetic updates (just enough to make you disgruntled if you’ve recently bought a new i10) include a new Cascading front grill (heading for every other Hyundai soon), new LED running lights, new back bumper, tweaked lights and trim, round rear fogs, modified side mouldings and new 14″ wheels.
Inside, the new i10 gets a new shade of red cloth and you can now choose from blue and black interior on all trim levels, and the same choice of 1.0 litre and 1.25 litre engines remain, with the 1.0 litre BlueDrive version getting a bit more frugal.
The Hyundai i10 was already an appealing little city car, and the 2017 updates just make it more so.
