Infiniti QX Inspiration ELECTRIC SUV Concept – a ‘Real World’ Infinti EV Concept

The Infiniti QX Inspiration SUV Concept first image arrives as Infiniti preview what looks to be the first production intent EV from Nissan’s posh arm.

Back in August, we got the Infiniti Project 10 as an EV Concept from Nissan’s posh brand, but there was no chance it was heading for production in any real sense. But the latest EV Concept from Infiniti does look to point in a production direction.

The latest EV Concept from Inifiniti – teased a few weeks ago – is the Infiniti QX Inspiration SUV Concept, and although it does look a bit ‘Concepty’ it certainly looks like a firm pointer to a production electric SUV from the Japanese firm.

As we’ve said before, it still surprises us that Infiniti hasn’t tapped in to Nissan’s EV expertise to deliver a production EV so far, and although Infiniti are giving no clue of the electric powertrain in the QX Inspiration, they do say it will be a high-performance electric vehicle.

Infiniti also say it signals a new era for Infiniti design, with the development of a new electric platform offering the opportunity for lounge-like interiors and new technology.

Karim Habib, Infiniti Design Director, said:

… the QX Inspiration as the beginning of a new era for INFINITI, and an illustration of where the brand wants to go. New technology gives the opportunity to evolve INFINITI’s design philosophy – and the new vehicle communicates the ‘serene strength’ at our core.

The Infiniti QX Inspiration ELECTRIC SUV Concept will be fully revealed at the Detroit Motor Show on 14 January.
