Is this a tease for the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe?

Mercedes-AMG has released a handful of teaser photos for a new model on their Facebook page, which looks like it’s going to be the AMG C63 Coupe.

Last week, we had a video tease form Mercedes AMG proclaiming ‘Something Fast’ is coming, which we guessed would be a Black Series version of the AMG GT. But it’s not.

A batch of tease photos on Mercedes-AMG Facebook page shows a car that is definitely not a Black Series GT, but is almost certainly a new Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe, a car aimed straight at the BMW M4.

If it is the C63 Coupe, it will be the third take on the C-Class by AMG – following on from the C63 Saloon and C63 Estate – and will arrive at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, both as a regular C63 and a more potent C63 S, alongside the regular C-Class Coupe.

The C63 Coupe will use the same engine as the C63 Saloon, which will mean 469bhp from the 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 in the regular C63, rising to a stonking 503bhp in the C63 S Coupe.

Design will be similar too, at least the front end, although there will be a different treatment for the side with frameless doors and bulging back wings behind the more steeply raked screen, and a new back end.

We can also expect tweaks to the Coupe’s suspension, with the lower suspension getting new damper settings for a more dynamic drive.

With teaser photos of the AMG C63 Coupe now released, it can’t be long before the car is fully revealed.
