Jaguar Land Rover sales up 32% in January 2013

Jaguar Land Rover sales continue to power ahead, with sales up 32 per cent in January 2013 – 31 per cent up for Land Rover and 40 per cent for Jaguar.

We’ve got used to ever increasing sales from both Jaguar and Land Rover in recent years, and 2013 has started for JLR in the same manner as 2012 – with sales up by 32 per cent.

JLR are reporting sales up in every major market, with China topping the list with an increase of 74 per cent, but even the UK (up 33 per cent) and USA (up 24 per cent) performed well and, despite sales falling across Europe for most car makers, Jaguar Land Rover managed to increase their sale by 10 per cent on the Continent.

Land Rover led sales for JLR with a total of 29,118 cars sold in January – up by 31 per cent – with, surprisingly, the Freelander rising strongest with sales up by 57 per cent but all models – the 2012 and 2013 Range Rover, Range Rover Evoque and Discovery – all seeing double digit rises.

But what is nice to see is that Jaguar sales also rose strongly in January too – to 5,759 cars – with the rise in Jaguar sales actually outstripping Land Rover – up by 40 per cent.

Our favourite driver’s luxury car – the Jaguar XJ – managed to sell 70 per cent more in January 2013 than in January 2012 and the Jaguar XF – helped by new engines and the XF Sportbrake – fared well too with sales up by 37 per cent.

With the Jaguar F-Type coming on stream soon, big demand for the 2013 Range Rover and more niche models on the way for JLR, it seems 2013 could see another year of strong and consistent growth from Jaguar Land Rover.
