Koenigsegg Agera RS ‘Gryphon’ heading for the Geneva Motor Show
The Koenigsegg Agera RS ‘Gryphon’, a one-ff special Agera RS with the 1360bhp engine and gold leaf highlights, will be at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
The Koenigsegg Agera RS was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015, moving the Agera R and Agera S to another level with technology from the One:1 and 1160bhp from the mighty Koenigsegg V8.Within a year, Koenigsegg had sold all 25 units of the Agera RS they planned on building, and we got a look at the first customer RS – the Koenigsegg Agera RS ‘Naraya’ – at Salon Prive last year.
But with no new cars to show off this year at the Geneva Motor Show, Koenigsegg is instead bringing the latest of the 25 Agera RS’s to be built – the stunning Koenigsegg Agera RS ‘Gryphon’.
Built for a US client, the RS Gryphon has a clear carbon body with 24-carat gold leaf highlights, highlights which extend to the striping, badging, engine cover struts, engine badging and interior highlights. The customer also ordered a matching carbon fibre racing helmet.
Interior titivations, in addition to the gold leaf, include black Alcantara with gold piping and black anodised aluminium, as well as a bespoke Gryphon motif.
But the really interesting bit is that this Agera RS is fitted with Koenigsegg’s optional 1MW engine, which takes the already huge 1160bhp and boosts it to 1360bhp, giving this Agera RS almost the magical 1:1 power to weight ratio of the Koenigsegg One:1.
If you’re heading for Geneva, the Agera RS ‘Gryphon’ is worth more than a quick look.
