The Koenigsegg One:1 Development car will be made like new by Christian and his team
The Koenigsegg One:1 development car is being refurbished in Sweden now all customer cars have been delivered and is up for sale – at £4 million.
What we thought would be the last Koenigsegg One:1 – Koenigsegg’s bonkers hypercar – crossed the Pond from Sweden in the summer to attend Pebbloe Beach before heading off to its new American owner. But even though that car was car six of six, there is another One-!1 – Koenigsegg’s own development car – and it’s now gone up for sale with our old friends Supervettura (who just happen to be Koenigsegg’s UK dealer).
You’re going to need rather deep pockets if you want this One:1, with an asking price of £4 million plus tax, which is $6 million if you happen to be in the US and willing to dig deep for a car you’ll almost certainly get in on show and display.
The development car is currently undergoing refurbishment at Koenigsegg’s plant in Sweden, and it’s going to need it – rumour is it’s done around 60,000 very hard miles, including setting world records and being let loose with journalists.
But Christian von Koenigsegg’s team will turn their hard-working One:1 in to a new car again before it’s ready for its new home in January, although there will be some differences to the production cars.
They include different carbon fibre, and aluminium instead of titanium for some of the components, but in all other ways – and especially the 1400bhp – this is a real One:1, and a One:1 used by Christian at that.
So if you’re getting nagged to decide what you want for Christmas by those in your life who care, you now know where to point them.
