We’re beginning to wonder if the tease from Lamborghini is the new Jota. It could be a lightweight Gallardo concept with heaps of Carbon Fibre.
Hmmm. Did we get it wrong? Did we simply believe what we wanted to believe, that the tease emanating from Lamborghini for the last few months – and increasing in the last few weeks – is for the Murcielago replacement, the Lamborghini Jota?
We know the Jota is on the way. We’ve shown you spy shots of the Murcialago replacement and we know that it seems it will have a 700bhp V12 and run a much reduced weight from the current car, thanks to extensive use of lightweight materials, particularly carbon fibre.
And we’ve been expecting it at the Paris Motor Show for some time. But the guys over at Autoblog.nl have pointed something out that any idiot – even without his contacts in on a Monday morning – should have picked up on. The last tease from Lamborghini on the ‘Jota’ showed what appears to be an engine cover in carbon fibre. But it only had ten holes.
Now that’s not conclusive. It could be an intentional mis-direction from Lamborghini. But we have to accept the possibility that this isn’t a tease for the Lamborghini Jota – which we know will be a V12 – but for a lightweight concept based on the Gallardo. Which of course is a V10.
It would seem the odd joint herbal cigarettes improve both perception and eyesight. Not that we’re implying anything about our esteemed Dutch colleagues with that remark.
Perish the thought.
