Lexus Concept Tease Detroit 2012 (click image for full size)
With the 2012 Detroit Motor Show just weeks away, we’re starting to get the big teases from car makers eager to ramp up interest in their offerings. This morning we learnt that Honda will take the new NSX to Detroit, and now we have arch-rivals Toyota teasing a new design direction for Lexus with a tease of a new concept, also Detroit-bound.
The information from Lexus is devoid of any real substance, except that the Lexus Concept heading to Motor City is:
“Designed by Calty, the company’s design studio in Newport Beach, California, the concept showcases the new design direction embraced by Lexus.”
To our eyes it seems aggressive and sporty, perhaps taking cues from the LFA and mixing them up with the 2012 Lexus GS, which is a much less bland-looking offering from Lexus than we’ve had before. It does seem to point to a Lexus intent to deliver more than just perfectly made cars. Or is that just wishful thinking?
But that’s all we have. Lexus promises more information next week, and the teases will probably drag in to the New Year.
