The new Ford Fiesta ST is now arriving in Ford’s UK showrooms with a decent turn of speed and a decent price. Plus we have new driving video of the Fiesta ST.

Ford revealed back in January that the new Fiesta ST will cost from £16,995, a very competitive price point and one that will make buyers think twice before looking elsewhere.

For your £17k you get a well-equipped Fiesta ST with new bumpers, lowered suspension, AirCon, 17″ alloys and a properly purposeful look.

If the regular Fiesta ST isn’t well-equipped enough for you Ford also has the answer in the guise of the Fiesta ST2 which throws in extra toys like LEDs, Keyless, Leather and Climate for a few more home comforts and an extra £1,000.

But whichever of the two Fiesta ST models you choose, you’ll still be paying less than you would for the Peugeot 208 GTi – which starts at £19k – making the Fiesta ST something of a performance bargain.

And the performance is pretty decent too, with the Fiesta ST offering 178bhp from its 1.6 litre EcoBoost Turbo driving the front wheels through a six-speed manual ‘box and able to get to 62mph in a perfectly decent 6.9 seconds.

Now Ford’s new baby hot hatch is arriving in UK showrooms, so Ford has sent us new video of the Fiesta ST (below) blatting round Ford’s Lommel track to show that, even if the new Fiesta ST is something of a bargain, it still delivers the goods.

The new Fiesta ST is a properly appealing little pocket rocket.
