The 2015 BMW X5 M and X6 M – the most powerful versions of the latest X5 and X6 – are teased on video ahead of a likely debut at the L.A. Auto Show.

The new BMW X5 M spied at the Nurburgring
It’s more than a year since the revised BMW X5 was revealed (with the latest X6 arriving this summer) and now it’s time for the ‘M’ versions to take centre stage.
But what we do know is the the new M models will get the usual M tweaks of a more aggressive front end, side skirts and tweaks to the back, as well as an updated version of the 4.4 litre V8 found in the previous models.
What seems certain is that the latest version of the 4.4 litre V8 will be more powerful an more economical than before, which will mean output rising from the previous 547bhp to somewhere closer to 600bhp and the 0-62mph getting down to around 4.5 seconds in an effort to take on the Porsche Cayenne.
If, as expected, the new BMW X5 M and X6 M debut at the LA Auto Show next month, we should see them on sale in the UK by spring 2015 at prices that will probably be £80k plus.
