New Hyundai i10 TEASED ahead of Frankfurt debut
A new Hyundai i10 is on the way, with Hyundai teasing its arrival with a design sketch ahead of the third generation i10’s debut at Frankfurt.
A month ago, we had a tease from Hyundai for a new car they were planning to reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. But we didn’t actually know what it was.Hyundai said the new car would ‘Go Big’, and the best guess we had was that it was either a new Venue for Europe or a new i10. Turns out it’s the latter.
What we saw in that tease was what Hyundai are calling the ‘X-Shaped’ C-pillar, designed to be a stand-out feature of a new i10 which takes a new dynamic design direction, with contrast between soft surfaces and sharp lines and a new proportion of width, height and wheel size to deliver a new look. The wide front grille still houses the running lights, with triangular air curtains accentuating width.
Hyundai say the new i10 goes big on connectivity with Blue Link, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless phone charging and rear-view camera, with safety stuff including Forward Collision, Lane Keep, Driver Attention and optional high beam assist.
Expect another tease or three for the new i10 ahead of its Frankfurt debut.
