New Kia Stinger order book opens in the UK

The new Kia Stinger – Kia’s RWD GT car – arrives ion the UK with order books open and prices starting at £31,,995 and rising to £40,495 for the Stinger GT-S 3.3 T-GDi V6.

The new Kia Stinger was revealed in UK spec at the beginning of the year, and the order books have now opened as specs and prices are revealed for Kia’s new GT car.

The headline act is the Stinger GT-S with its 365bhp 3.3 litre V6 T-GDi engine, but there’s also a 2.0 litre 244bhp T-GDi and a 197bho 2.2 litre CRDi turbodiesel too for the more economically minded.

Five versions of the Stinger are on offer based on three trim levels – GT-Line, GT-Line S and GT-S – with all models getting an 8″ touchscreen Sat Nav, Kia Connected with TomTom for stuff like Traffic Updates, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, reversing camera, rear parking sensors and a 7″ TFT supervision cluster.

GT-Line models get a nine-speaker sound system, but the GT-Line S and GT-S come with Harmon Kardon sound, with GT-Lien S and GT-S also getting a 360-degree around-view monitor.

Standard safety stuff includes Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Speed Limit Information and Driver Attention Warning, with GT-Line S and GT-S also getting Blind Sport Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The GT-S also comes with Brembo brakes.

GT-Line and GT-Line S come with 18″ alloys (the GT-S gets 19″), with LED headlights and tail lights (but the GT-Line has to make do with projection headlights).

Inside you get leather in black, grey or red (Nappa on the GT-S), electric memory seats, heated seats, electric steering wheel adjustment, D-Shaped leather steering wheel, leather dash, Dual Climate, Smart Cruise, Smart Entry and a powered tailgate for the GT-Line S and GT-S, with electronic suspension on the GT-S.

The Stinger GT-Line 2.0 T-GDi comes with 244bhp, 0-62mph in 5.9 seconds and official economy of 35.8mpg, the Stinger GT-Line 2.2 CRDi with 197bhp, 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds and 50.4mpg, and the range-topping Stinger GT-S 3.3 T-GDi V6 gets 365bhp, 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds and 28.5mpg. All are RWD with eight-speed auto and five driving settings.

Now available to order, the new Stinger comes as standard with a Sunset Yellow paint job, but you can option Pearl White, Midnight Black, Ceramic Silver, HiChroma Red and Panthera Metal at extra cost.
