New Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake
A new Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake is revealed at the Geneva Motor Show, adding stylish load-lugging looks to the new Mercedes CLA.
It’s a bit over four years since the Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake arrived to add a stylish way to carry ‘stuff’ to the A-Class range and now, with a new Mercedes CLA already revealed, it’s time for the new Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake. The new CLA Shooting Brake won’t be arriving in the UK until September, but a reveal in Geneva gives you plenty of time to decide if a stylish compact estate take on the CLA floats your boat.
As you’d expect, the new CLA Shooting Brake takes the front end of the new CLA and bolts on a stylish extended roofline with sloping tailgate to create a good-looking estate which places style above practicality.
The new CLA Shooting Brake is longer than the car it replaces and, with a longer wheelbase too, offers more room for people and ‘stuff’, although it’s not quite as wide so its elongated looks are a bit more exaggerated this time round.
Inside it’s pretty much standard A-Class – which is just fine – and although there will doubtless be a plethora of engine options eventually, Mercedes has confirmed just one so far. That’s the CLA 250 Shooting Brake 2.0 litre petrol with 219bhp.
