New MG ZS Compact SUV goes on sale in the UK
The MG ZS Compact SUV, which was going to be the MG XS, goes on sale in the UK with prices starting at just £12.495 and with a seven year warranty.
The MG ZS Compact SUV was revealed back in the summer (although then it was going to be the MG XS) as MG looked to cash-in on the compact SUV market. And now it’s on sale in the UK.We reckoned, when the ZX was revealed, that MG would kick off prices at around £12.5k as they seek to fill a space vacated by the likes of Kia and Hyundai now they’re mainstream, and deliver a proper ‘budget’ compact SV. And they have.
Starting at just £12,495, the MF ZS undercuts anything you might consider competition by at least a couple of grand, and MG are throwing in a Kia-like seven year warranty too.
Complete with three steering modes – Urban, Normal and Dynamic – the ZS also gets decent spec levels, including 8″ touchscreen infotainment, DAB, Bluetooth, Keyless, Cruise, Air Con, Sat Nav, rear view camera, Apple CarPlay and more, but how much is standard does depend on what you spend.
As you move up the range from the entry-level Explore ZS at £12,495, you can up the spec – and cost – with Excite (from £13,995) and Exclusive (from £15,495) models, and there’s a choice of a 1.5 litre VTI-tech four-cylinder or 1.0 litre GDI Turbo, with an auto option on the three-pot.
Will the new MG ZS finally carve a niche for MG?
