MINI Cooper S 60 Years Edition
New MINI Cooper S 60 Years Edition arrives to celebrate 60 years of the Mini / MINI Brand, with just 500 units in British Racing Green.
We’re not entirely sure that Alec Issigonis would recognise today’s MINI as the descendant of the little urban runaround he created in the 1950s, but whether today’s MINI is a worthy successor to the original Issigonis Mini matters little – because it sells.Part of the BMW MINI’s success is an endless stream of ‘Limited Edition’ models, often based on the flimsiest of pretences to create a MINI ‘Special’, but this time MINI has got a properly good reason to deliver a special MINI – 2019 marks 60 years since the Austin and Morris Minis first arrived as the Morris Mini Minor and Austin Seven.

The MINI Cooper S 60 Years Edition comes finished in British Racing Green with black roof and black mirrors, with two-tone 17″ alloy wheels, LED headlights, bonnet stripes and even a pair of ‘Mini’ spot lights (they should be bigger).
Inside it’s a MINI the likes of which only Radford or Wood and Pickett would have created back in the day, with brown leather upholstery with green piping and white stitching. ambient lighting, wireless charging and 8.8″ infotainment.
Power comes from the Copper S’s 189bhp 2.0 litre four-pot with an auto ‘box, costs from £29,990 and just 500 are available.
