New MINI Clubman OFFICIAL photos arrive early

A leak of official photos of the new 2016 MINI Clubman give us a first look at MINI’s new Estate, the biggest MINI yet to hit production.

We’ve already seen the new MINI Clubman as a concept at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, but now we get to see the production version early as a gallery of official photos of the new Clubman arrive a little earlier than MINI planned.

Due to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September – and go on sale at the same time – the new Clubman looks very like the concept did, and as such we expect it to be the biggest MINI yet – 4.2m long and a chunk wider than the old Clubman.

The silly asymmetrical doors of the old Clubman have gone, to be replaced by four convention al doors, but the tailgate still gets the barn doors, but MINI has give the new Clubman a fresh nose – that looks a lot like the Rocketman’s nose – and there are changes to the interior too, with a new centre console and what looks like a different dash top.

Engines are likely to mimic those of the MINI Hatch, and there’s also likely to be 4WD and a hybrid version (and maybe an electric version too) in time.
