New Porsche Cayenne Turbo S (2013) arrives

Porsche has revealed the 2013 Cayenne Turbo S, the range topping Cayenne with an extra 50bhp and a £107.5k price tag.

The new Porsche Cayenne was revealed at Geneva in 2010, since which time we’ve had a plethora of models in the Cayenne range arrive including a hybrid and even a V8 diesel. But what’s been missing from the Porsche range – as is usually the case for the first couple of years of a model’s life – is the Turbo S version. But not any more.

The 2013 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S has been revealed with a few subtle cosmetic changes and an extra 50bhp and 37lb/ft of torque to add to the Cayenne Turbo’s 500bhp and 516lb/ft.

Porsche has released the extra 50 horses in the Turbo S by making the inlet manifold more-free flowing, turning up the boost a bit and plugging in their laptops to have a fiddle, the result of which is a 0-62mph of 4.5 seconds and a top speed 3mph more. Economy remains unchanged from the Cayenne Turbo at 24.6mpg (but not in the real world).

Porsche hasn’t felt the need to play with the Turbo’s chassis to help the Turbo S, so you get the same setup with active damping, active roll bars, PDCC, PTV, electronically controlled rear diff lock and air suspension.

Cosmetic tweaks include a set of 21″ Turbo S alloys, the Sport Chrono Pack as standard, gloss black for the inlet screens, headlight housings and mirrors and a selection of bi-colour leather packs.

The new 2013 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S goes on sale at a price of £107.5k with first deliveries expected in early 2013.
