New Renault ZOE EV gets impressive residuals
The new electric Renault Zoe gets impressive class-leading residuals as it goes on sale in the UK, but there’s no longer a battery lease option.
The Renault Zoe has been amongst us as an electric car for longer than almost anything else, and it always came with a battery lease option to keep the headline price close to comparable ICE cars. But no more.As Renault announce class-leading residuals for the latest Renault Zoe, promising a 42 per cent value after three years and 36,000 miles, they also reveal the Zoe can no longer be had with a battery lease option.
It removes an option really only the Zoe had, and Renault have decided to take the option away because the new Zoe has moved on and, with those very strong residuals, grabbing one on a PCP deal costs from £269 a month (after a £3k deposit).
That price is for the Play R110 Z.E.50, but even the range-topping GT Line R135 Z.E.50, complete with 50kW charger, is a not unreasonable £309 a month.
That makes the new Zoe, complete with your very own battery, a properly affordable EV, and one that now offers a good spec and a decent range.
That includes a new 52kWh battery pack – delivering a range of up to 242 miles – which can take a 50kW charge, and a more powerful 134bhp electric motor (depending on model).
