New Subaru Legacy production version teased for Chicago Auto Show

After a concept version of the new Subaru Legacy, Subaru are teasing a production version for a debut at the Chicago Auto Show next week.

Subaru have moved quickly from showing a concept version of an all new Legacy at the Los Angeles Auto Show, with the first tease for the new Legacy revealed ahead of a debut at the Chicago Auto Show in a week’s time.

Looking at the tease (above) it does seem to have a very similar shape to the concept version we saw at Los Angeles,. But if Subaru’s recent form is anything to go by, the production Legacy will be far less impressive than the concept.

We recently had the reveal of the new Subaru WRX STI which, although welcome (especially as it’s heading for the UK), was much less impressive than the Concept WRX.

Subaru say the new Legacy has a design required for a flagship car – and that its design points the way for future Subarus – and embodies the design direction of the Legacy Concept.

We only have a week before we see if the production Legacy does match up to the bold design of the concept, but we have our doubts. But if it does, there’s probably sense in Subaru bringing the new Legacy to the UK.
