The 2019 Volvo S60 has finally been officially revealed after many teases, with the Inscription, R-Design and Polestar Engineered versions all offering only petrol or hybrid powertrains.
The new Volvo S60 is the final (main) piece of Volvo’s new 60 Series range, and after lots of teases – and the arrival of the V60 estate – there aren’t many surprises on offer. But, we have to say, the new S60 looks as good as anything in its class.Volvo has chosen to reveal three of the trim specs as its new Plant opens in the US – where all the new S60s will be built – with Inscription, R-Design and Polestar Engineered versions all in the S60 gallery below (the red car is the R-Design and the Black car the Polestar).
The exterior may be very familiar (just imagine the very back end of the Polestar 1 sitting behind the back doors of the V60) and so is the interior, with the same classy, appealing cabin as the V60.
But although much of the S60 is familiar from the V60, the range of engines on offer is different.
There will be no diesels, and at launch it will be a choice of the T5 and T6 petrols plus the T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid; you can expect a lower-power T6 Twin Engine to arrive a bit later.
Volvo don’t seem to have decided exactly when the new S60 will go on sale in the UK (although we’d imagine in the next month), nor have they decided how much a new S60 will cost.
