The new Volvo XC60 SUV will cost from £37,205 in the UK, confirms Volvo, with a choice of D4, D5 and T5 engines and six trim levels. First UK deliveries Q3 2017.
Getting on for a month ago, we revealed the prices for the new Volvo XC60 as we discovered Volvo had started to roll out the new XC60 to its online configurator. And now Volvo has officially revealed UK prices and specs.Pretty much all we told you last month was right, although a few of the prices are a bit different, and the six trim levels – Momentum, Momentum Pro, R-Design, R-Design Pr, Inscription and Inscription Pro – are confirmed, as is the engine choice of D4 and D5 diesels and a single T5 petrol option.
Even entry-level Momentum spec cars come well-equipped, with 4WD, eight-speed auto, leather, LED headlights with active beam, Climate, heated front seats, power tailgate and 18″ alloys.
Unsurprisingly, Volvo’s 9″ tablet style infotainment screen is also standard across the XC60 range with Sat Nav (and free lifetime updates and RTTI), voice activation and online access to cloud-based Apps.
City Safe also comes as standard with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian, cyclist and large animal detection as well as the first application of Steer Assist to point you away from trouble.
Other clever tech includes the (optional) semi-autonomous Pilot Assist which can effectively drive you at speeds up to 80mph. And it works pretty well.
Opt for the sporty XC60 R-Design and you get 19″ alloys, sports suspension, Nubuck leather sports seats, gloss black grille and silver matt and high gloss exterior details.
The luxury option – the XC60 Inscription – comes with Nappa soft leather, electric ventilated front seats, 19″ alloys, plenty of chrome and rear footwell and side-step lights.
What also arrives with the XC60 is the ‘Pro’ trim level for each of the basic trims, offering extra spec in one package rather than having to add umpteen packs as you do on the XC90 (although the XC90 also now comes with the ‘Pro’ option). These add:
- Momentum Pro: Electric front seats, heated steering wheel, heated windscreen, active bending lights and Volvo on Call.
- R-Design Pro: All the stuff from Momentum Pro plus 21″ alloys, electric air suspension and adaptive dampers.
- Inscription Pro: 20″ alloys, upgraded suspension and massage front seats.
Adding the Pro option doesn’t mean there aren’t still options, so you can opt for even more goodies with the Xenium Pack adding a Panoramic Roof, 360o surround view parking camera and Park Assist Pilot, Smartphone Integration offering CarPlay and Android Auto (an extra? Really?) and Bowers and Wilkins Sound.
Volvo’s UK dealers are now taking orders for the new XC60, and first UK customer deliveries will be in late summer. A further engine option – the XC60 T8 Twin engine plug-in Hybrid – will arrive later in 2017.
