The new 2015 Volvo XC90 will arrive in the UK next year and come equipped with a new cabin filtration system that will make it a very clean place to be.

The new Volvo XC90 is a very ‘CleanZone’
The 2015 Volvo XC90 was finally revealed back in August, and a fine prospect it is for better-off families.
But Volvo aren’t happy with just making the new XC90, they want to make sure it’s kind to its occupants too.
So the XC90 gets a new multi-filter for the air entering the cabin, designed specially for the new SPA platform, which is not only bigger but also intercepts more particulates and pollen and a host of other unpleasant air-borne stuff that does you no good.
That means stuff like Nitrogen Oxides, Hydrocarbons, Ozone, Gases, Odours and pollen, with the new filter cutting levels of particles smaller than 0,4 ?m by up to 70%.
The system works automatically and will close air from coming in if it detects high levels (such as when driving through a tunnel), and when unlocking the car as you approach the system cleans out the air in less than a minute.
Peter Mertens, Volvo’s R&D VP, said:
Up to 45 per cent of the industrialised world’s population is now suffering from some form of allergy or hypersensitivity. Over ten per cent has asthma. At Volvo, our commitment to safety goes well beyond safety belts and air bags.
It’s about making sure that every minute you and your family spend in a Volvo is as safe as it can possibly be. That includes breathing.
With this filter we are now at the forefront of the industry in terms of particle separation.
So, just in case you needed yet another reason to buy a new Volvo XC90, keeping the kiddies lungs clean should be the clincher.
