It seems that Porsche are planning to join BMW and Mercedes with a big coupe SUV, with a Cayenne Coupe planned off the next generation Cayenne.

Porsche are planning a coupe version of the next Cayenne (current Turbo S pictured)
No one thought the BMW X6 would sell; after all, who would want an SUV with a compromised coupe roofline?
Now, Porsche are apparently playing the SUV Coupe game with plans for a coupe version of the next generation Cayenne in 2018, according to Autocar, to make sure BMW and Mercedes don’t have things all their own way.
If it happens, expect a next generation Cayenne Coupe to look quite a lot like a Panamera on stilts, to come with everything from a 3.0 litre diesel to a 4.8 litre turbo V8 by way of a hybrid under the bonnet, and a price tag that adds a sizeable chunk to the price of the Cayenne.
But, if anyone should be doing a coupe SUV, it should be Porsche.

Porsche and Audi are the main profit engines of VW. In 2013, 65% of VW profits came from Audi (43%) and Posche (22%). This is why these two brands are expanding their model range.
