The Renault Zoe EV gets a new electric motor and model range
Renault has updated the Zoe and Twizy electric cars with a new longer-range electric motor option and new trim levels to fit with the rest of Renault’s range.
The Renault Zoe and Renault Twizy EVs may not exactly be stellar sellers, but in common with other ULEVs (and in particular plug-in hybrids) sales are growing. So Renault has decided to give both the Twizy and Zoe some technical tweaks and new models to try and keep sales rolling in.The Zoe gets a new longer-range electric motor and new trim levels to bring it more in line with Renault’s ICE models, with three models now on offer – Expression Nav, Dynamique Nav and Dynamique Nav Rapid Charge.
The entry-level Expression Nav (from £13,445 after grant) comes with the R-Link touchscreen Sat Nav, Climate, key card entry, Bluetooth, Cruise and electric front windows, and the Dynamique Nav (from £15,045) throws in electric windows all round, better interior trim and rear parking camera.
The Dynamique Rapid Charge (from £15,545) can be charged to 80 per cent in 30 minutes with a 43kW charge point, but unlike the rest of the Zoe models – which get a new, lighter electric motor with an official range of 149 miles and a real world range of 71-106 miles – the Rapid Charge models keep the old electric motor.

The Renault Twizy EV gets a few tweaks for 2015.
The quirky Zoe EV also gets tweaked, with the range now consisting of Expression, Dynamique and Cargo, with Expression (from £6,895) equating to the old Urban Twizy and Dynamique to the old Technic trim, with minor changes to colour, trim and wheel options.
