Rolls Royce Dawn Black Badge arrives
The Rolls Royce Dawn Black Badge has arrived to join the Wraith and Ghost Black Badge models offering more dynamism and more power.
The Rolls Royce Ghost and Wraith arrived last year as ‘Black Badge’ models as Rolls sought to deliver variants which offered drivers that bit more. And now a third Black Badge model arrives with this, the new Rolls Royce Dawn Black Badge.
Just like its hard-top siblings, the Convertible Dawn comes with a distinctly dark cosmetic treatment, with a multi-layer solid black paint job. folding black roof and a rear deck trimmed in black leather.
The ‘Black’ treatment also extends to pretty much all of what you’d expect to be shiny, including the Spirit of Ecstasy, grille surround and the finisher on the boot lid.
Inside the Black Badge Dawn gets higher levels of black leather with Mandarin highlights and an orange highlight which wraps right round the cabin, as well as a nod to Sir Malcolm Campbell with his ‘Infinity’ rating embroidered in to the Dawn’s rear waterfall.
But as this is a Black Badge car, the changes are more than just cosmetic.
The twin turbo V12 under the bonnet gets 593bhp – up by 30bhp on the regular Dawn – bigger brakes, active exhaust and tweaks to the gearbox and suspension.
The Rolls Royce Dawn Black Badge is now on sale, but RR hasn’t revealed pricing.
As a guide, the Wraith Black Badge costs around £35k more than the regular Wraith, so expect the Dawn Black Badge to start at around £300,000.
