Earlier this month, the SEAT Leon ST Cupra 280 estate was revealed by SEAT as the most potent estate car ever to come from the brand, and it’s now gone on sale in the UK.
That’s a chunk less than VW want for the Golf R Estate, although the Golf R estate does get 4WD, but it’s a lot more than the Ford Focus ST Estate, although that is less well-equipped and less powerful.
For your pushing on £30k you do get the 276bhp turbo four-cylinder engine, which can get to 62mph in 6 seconds (6.1 for the manual) and still deliver official economy of 42.8mpg.
You also get the estate’s versatility, with deecnt seats-up boot space of 587 litres and a huge 1,470 litres with the seats down.
Standar equipment includes 19″ alloys, red brake callipers, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, twin exhaust pipes and bigger intakes at the front.
Inside there’s auto lights and wipers, Alcantara sports seats, SEAT Media Plus and CUPRA drive profile.
The SEAT Leon ST Cupra 280 gets a UK debut at the Daily Telegraph Outdoor & Adventure Show, 12-15 February 2015, and will arrive in SEAT’s UK dealers in March 2015.
