Porsche Macan GTS
The Porsche Macan GTS has been revealed as a new addition to the Macan range, with more power, cosmetic updates and sharper handling. Price from £55,188.
It was inevitable that the Porsche Macan range would grow as the Macan matures, and that’s what’s happening with a new addition to the range – the Porsche Macan GTS.In the world of Porsche, the GTS badge means a more driver oriented model, and with the Macan already offering perhaps the best driver experience of any SUV – compact or otherwise – the GTS promises to be a delight for those who love the joy of the drive.
The GTS slots in between the Macan S and Macan Turbo, so it comes with the Macan S’s 3.0 litre turbo – rather than the Turbo’s 3.6 litre – but it does arrive with 355bhp, neatly slotting between the two.
An additional 25bhp isn’t a huge amount, but the GTS can get to 62mph in 5.0 seconds – nearly half a second quicker that the S and only 0.2s behind the Turbo – with power sent to all four wheels through Porsche’s PDK gearbox, all of which knocks economy a bit – the GTS offers official economy of 31.4mpg.
Porsche has also had a play with the suspension on the GTS, with the PASM set up more aggressively, lower ride height and some beefier 20″ rubber at the back.
Cosmetic changes include new alloys, black highlights for the exterior, Sport design pack, GTS Sports Seats and Alcantara trim, as well as DAB, parking sensors, electric tailgate and the option of full LED headlights.
The new Macan GTS goes on sale at Porsche’s UK dealers today (28 October 2015) and will cost from £55,188.
