The Skoda Yeti Monte Carlo – the ‘sporty’ take on the Yeti – is now available with a 1.2 litre TSI 110PS and 2.0 litre TDI 110PS. Costs from £19,700.
The boxy Skoda Yeti is not really a car that anyone could consider has sporty pretensions, but that didn’t stop Skoda launching a Monet Carlo version of the Yeti last year.
And it seems, despite ‘Sporty Yeti’ sounding like an oxymoron, the Monte Carlo take on the Yeti has been a proper success story for Skoda, so they’re extending the engine options from the current 2.0 litre TDI 150PS to include a lower-powered diesel and a petrol option.
The extended Yeti Monte Carlo range now gives the option not just of the 150PS TDI, but a 110PS version of the 2.0 litre diesel as well as a petrol-engine 1.2 litre TSI 110PS, with the 110PS diesel also getting a DSG option.
Delivering the Monte Carlo with less powerful engines has also meant you can now buy one for less, with the 1.2 TSI costing from £19,700 (£20,800 if you want it with the DSG ‘box) and the 110PS diesel from £21,045.
The new models are front-wheel drive and come with a decent spec including 17″ Origami gloss black alloys, cornering Bi-xenon headlights, black roof, door mirrors and spoilers, black grille, LED tail lights and Monte Carlo badges, with the interior treated to a ‘Supersport’ leather steering wheel, sports seats and titivated upholstery, mats and instrument cluster.
The new Skoda Yeti Monte Carlo models are now available to order from Skoda’s UK dealers.
