Subaru XV gets another price cut – down by £2300 across the XV range

July 1, 2013 By Cars UK

The Subaru XV Crossover/SUV is getting another price cut, this time right across the range bringing all XVs down by £2300 from the launch price.

Over a year ago, Subaru launched the new XV in the UK with a starting point of £21,995, Which was decent value for an able Crossover/SUV.

But by May of 2013, Subaru had decided there was room to play with the XV’s price – or at least on the 1.6 litre petrol version – and they announced a £1300 price drop for the entry-level petrol XV.

But now, just six weeks later, Subaru has decided that the weakening Yen has given them more room to manoeuvre on price and have announced they’re cutting prices across the whole XV range by £2300 (which actually means £1,000 off the new price for the 1.6 litre petrol).

It’s a strong offer for the XV, and means the range-topping 2.0i SE Lux Premium Lineartronic now costs well under £30k (£27,925) and the range kicks off at £18,995 for the entry-level 2.0D S.

Subaru’s MD, Haydn Davies, said:

Compared to rivals, the XV is one of the most robust and most economical cars available. We have taken the first opportunity to re-price the model given the changes to exchange rates and believe the  price reduction now gives customers the greatest value for their money.

The new prices for the Subaru XV take effect from today (1st July 2013) and make it an even more appealing option than it was.

But how those who’ve recently bought an XV will feel about the new XV prices…

Starting to make the Qashqai look under equipped and over priced especially if you value any degree of proper off road ability.
