Fleet News has revealed that the BMW 3 Series has come out top of the heap in their 2010 list of the Top 10 most reliable cars.
Fleet News magazine compiles one of those ‘Top Ten Lists’ so beloved of newspapers, magazines, websites, TV shows… and anything else that likes a bit of easy story fodder.
Readers love Top 10 lists. Everybody has an opinion and every opinion is a bit different, usually influenced by personal experience. But Fleet News has a Top 10 list it’s a bit hard not to take seriously, especially when you discover that their Top 10 Most Reliable Cars list is put together by collecting data from the UK’s biggest 50 contract hire companies responsible for 1.5 million cars. And 1.5 million cars that do more than the average mileage. So the feedback should be quite accurate.
Last year’s Top 10 Most Reliable Cars list from Fleet News saw the Honda Civic come out on top with BMW grabbing the most reliable car maker. This year BMW has grabbed most reliable car with the 3-Series and Honda has grabbed the most reliable car maker. So not much change, really.
Top 10 lists are just a guide. But if you want to know which car will play workhorse for you with the least problems then the Fleet New FN50 Survey is not a bad place to start.
