Top Gear Tonight: Toyota Supra, Lotus 79 and Iceland Off-Road
Top Gear tonight – Series 27, episode 5 – is the final of the current series and features the Toyota Supra, Iceland off-road, Lotus 79 and guest star Will Young.
The current series of Top Gear, Series 27, draws to a close tonight, and the new trio of presenters can give themselves a pat on the back – TG seems to have hit form again.
Tonight, Paddy McGuinness gets to grips with the Toyota Supra, but although the new Supra features it’s a look at the ’90s Supra A80 that dominates.
Paddy gets to play with the old Supra, with a convoy including the DB7, Ferrari 512 TR and an old 911 Turbo, and gets to put the new Supra round the track. And Chris Harris has his say on the new ‘BMW’ Supra.
Having already discovered that Freddie Flintoff makes a pretty good fist of any challenge thrown his way, and seems to have no real sense of fear, this week’s outing puts both of those traits to the test with an outing to Iceland’s Formula Off-road, driving 1000bhp trucks up vertical slopes in Iceland’s other-world landscape.
Back at the track – the Lotus track – Chris Harris gets to grips with the Lotus 79 after spending time digging in to its Genesis and success at Hethel to find out what made it perhaps the greatest F1 car of all time.
In the Star in a Reasonably Fast Car slot it’s the return of Will Young, whose previous appearance on Top Gear saw a bit of a bromance with Clarkson.
The final episode of Series 27 of Top Gear is on BBC2 tonight at 8pm.
