Vauxhall Corsa range updated for 2018
The Vauxhall Corsa gets a series of updates for 2018 including a new 1.4 litre petrol engine option and changes to the trim offerings. On sale now.
The Vauxhall Corsa may not sell as well as Ford’s Fiesta, but it’s an important car for Vauxhall as they try to see how they fit in the world of PSA, perhaps ending up as a company of rebadged Citroens and Peugeots before too long. For now though, the Vauxhall Corsa is still a Vauxhall (and an Opel too), and Vauxhall are giving the range a bit of a tweak for 2018.
The headline news is the arrival of a new Euro 6.2 compliant 1.4 litre petrol engine option for the Corsa which comes with either 74bhp or 89bhp and five-speed manual gearbox as standard (although you can have an auto ‘box with the 89bhp engine). Officially it does 50.4mpg whichever power output you choose (although it’s thirstier with the auto ‘box option).
The Corsa range now consists of seven different trim levels (surely that’s too many still?) starting at £11,250 for the entry-level Corsa Active, with the rest of the trim options being Design, Energy, Sport, SRi Nav, SE Nav and SRi VX Nav Black. And with either three or five doors.
Within the various trim levels there are some enhancements, with Corsas from Design trim up now coming with Air Con, and the SRi Nav and above with Navi 4.0 IntelliLink infotainment and Nav.
In case seven trim levels don’t do it for you, Vauxhall will also flog you a Lux Pack for the SE Nav which adds 17″ alloys, rear view camera and Climate for an extra £1,500.
The titivated Corsa is now on sale at Vauxhall’s dealers.
