The new Volvo XC60 is now available with Polestar Optimisation for added driving pleasure on the T8, T5, D5 and D4, with the T8 Twin engine delivering 415bhp.
The new Volvo XC60 hasn’t been around in the UK for long, but Volvo is keeping the sale momentum going not only with some well-judged ‘Human’ PR for their new SUV, but now with Polestar Optimisation options across the range.
As Volvo lovers know, the ‘Polestar Optimisation’ is about adding improved driving dynamics rather than just tweaking for additional power, although there is a bit more power on offer too.
In the range-topping XC60 T8 Twin Engine plug-in Hybrid, that means power goes up to 415bhp, a modest increase of 14bhp over the regular T8.
But as well as the headline increase in power, the Polestar-fettled T8 gets greater power and torque in the mid-range, which will make the car much more responsive in everyday use.
There’s also a bit of gearbox tweaking to make use of the extra mid-range urge, as well as a gear-hold function which prevents gear changes happening when you’re cornering hard. Which helps if you leave the gearbox to its own devices.
As well as Polestar Optimisation for the T8 XC60, Volvo is also offering similar tweaks across the rest of the range, with the T5 petrol and D5 and D4 diesels getting tweaked.
No prices yet for the Polestar fettling, but they won’t be silly money.
