The Jaguar XKR-S - expect a very similar nose across the XK for 2012
As well as launching the 2012 XF at New York, we are expecting Jaguar to reveal the 2012 Jaguar XK, with updates similar to the XKR-S
Yes, all the talk about Jaguar and the New York Motor show has been about the 2012 facelift for the Jaguar XF. And we know that will be happening, complete with the 2.2 litre entry-level diesel XF.
But what we also seem to have is the arrival of 2012 Jaguar XK facelift, certainly if our sources are anything to go by.
So what’s the XK going to get for 2012? Well, it will certainly get a new nose with a new bumper and lights up front and probably the same treatment out the back. We also expect Jaguar to come up with some proper tweaking for the interior of the XK to give it a new lease of life – it is starting to feel its age.
There is also an outside chance that Jaguar may introduce the XK 3.0 litre diesel – long overdue – to take the fight to the newly launched BMW 6-series. All of which is very interesting, and seems to have been overlooked with all the XF speculation going on. But actually, we think we’ve had most of the 2012 XK facelift already.
If you take a look at the photo at the top, it’s of the 2011 Jaguar XKR-S (or 2012 XKR-S in the US). Yes, this is a range-topper and you’d expect it to be a bit bolder than a regular XK. But there’s no way Jaguar are going to fit those lights just to the XKR-S, and nor is that grill and bumper just for one model either.
In fact, if you look harder at the grill, it now seems to be a one-piece grill bisected by the blue bodywork in the middle, instead of the old oval with an extra mesh at the bottom. And if you imagine that grill without that blue piece, you have an even more aggressive version of the latest Jaguar nose on the new XJ.
As you would expect, we asked Jaguar to comment. Regular readers will know that Jaguar’s response when we ask questions about anything to come is always the same – “We don’t comment on speculation about potential future product”.
But of late Jaguar has simply ignored questions they don’t like, so despite waiting all day for a response from Jaguar on this we’ve had nothing. Read in to that what you will.
Still, we’ll know by Wednesday evening.

I would also agree with what percy said. The interior of the Jaguar XK is somewhat nasty for me. The interior design of the XK is already been left behind, so I would also say that they should remodel its interior for it to be accepted by car lovers specially to those who loves Jaguar so much just like me.

Sorry, I’m a Jaguar lover but I couldn’t live with the interior of the XK. It feels a decade behind. Fix that and the XK gets much more appealing.Here’s hoping you’re right on this.
