The new Ford Mustang goes on sale in the UK as a Fastback or Convertible and a choice of 2.3 litre EcoBoost or 5.0 litre V8. Costs from £28,995.
It’s more than a year since the 2015 Ford Mustang was revealed, and five months since the first RHD Mustang left Ford’s production line. But now it’s on sale in the UK – and in RHD – with prices starting from a not unreasonable £28,995 for the 2.3 litre EcoBoost and £32,995 for the 5.0 litre V8.
You can have the EcoBoost or the V8 with either a six-speed manual or six-speed auto with all models getting 19″ alloys, performance brakes, auto HID xenon headlights, LED tail lights, Climate and SYNC 2 with an 8″ touchscreen.
Youy can have your new Mustang in a choice of ten colours – including the shouty Competition Orange and tri-coat Triple Yellow – and if you want to dig a bit deeper you can option stuff like climate seats and Lustre Nickel alloys.
The headline starting price of £28,995 puts you in to a manual 2.3 litre Fastback, with the Convertible costing an extra £4k and an auto ‘box an additional £1.5k.
But if you want a real-deal Mustang with a proper V8 and 412bhp (although that looks set to be boosted to nearer 500bhp before too long) you’ll need to find £32,995 for the manual Fastback, with the Convertible, and automatic gearbox option, the same extra cost as on the EcoBoost-engined Mustang.
Although the new Ford Mustang can be ordered from Ford in the UK, first customer cars aren’t expected to be delivered before the autumn as Ford are shipping the first RHD cars to Asia.
