Kia has released the first official photos of the new Sportage – complete with updated styling – ahead of its public debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
We’ve already had design sketches of the new Kia Sportage – and leaked photos too – but now we get the first official photos of the new Sportage as it heads for a public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
As you’d expect, the sketches of the Sportage were full of artistic license – and the reality is far less dynamic – but the real Sportage looks suitably updated and refreshed, and does promise to offer more than the current model.
There are styling changes all round, but the biggest change is at the front with new headlights – set apart at the top of the wings – and a new standalone grill, bigger lower grill and a cluster of fog lights.
The profile of the new Sportage is familiar – if perhaps slightly more coupe-like than before – with pronounced wheel arches and a deep scallop down the side. At the back, the Sportage looks more purposeful and planted thanks to slim lights emphasising width.
Kia hasn’t seen fit to send any interior photos – it looks like the reveal, and technical details, are an on-going project – but we’re expecting a more appealing and upmarket cabin.
No doubt we’ll get more on the new Sportage in the coming days.
