2017 Audi RS5 Coupe costs from £62,900 in the UK
The new Audi RS5 Coupe goes on sale in the UK this month with a new 444bhp V6 twin-turbo engine and new platform. Costs from £62,900.
The new Audi RS5 Coupe debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and now it’s going on sale in the UK later this month.Although the looks haven’t changed too much from the old model, this new RS5 gets a new platform, new chassis with five-link suspension and a new 2.9 litre twin-turbo V6 engine.
That engine may be two cylinders and more than a litre down on the old 4.2 litre V8 in the last RS5, but it delivers the same 444bhp, and a chunk more torque (442lb/ft, up from 317lb/ft).
Audi claims that means the new RS5 will get to 62mph in an impressive 3.9 seconds – helped by its quattro 4WD drivetrain – and on to 174mph if you fork out for the Dynamic Package, with a new ZF eight-speed auto ‘box rather than the old seven-speed dual-clutch. Official economy is 32mpg (more like 24mpg in the real world – if you’re lucky),
Styling changes over the rest of the A5 range are fairly predictable, with a bigger gloss black grill with honeycomb insert, bumpers with added butch, wider wheel arches, wider sills, boot lid spoiler and 19″ alloys (20″ option).
Interior updates are predictable too, with RS digital instruments, flat-bottomed wheel, stainless steel pedals and heavily bolstered seats.
On sale this month (May 2017), the new Audi RS5 Coupe costs from £62,900, with first UK customer cars due in the summer.
