2018 Volkswagen Passat get MORE equipment
Volkswagen continues its sales offensive by adding a raft of new equipment to the 2018 Passat, and the Golf can now be had with the new 1.5 litre TSI EVO petrol engine.
Volkswagen has been busy delivering new models and more technology to its cars – as well as a new product offensive – as it reinvents itself after Dieselgate, and the 2018 VW Passat is the latest to benefit. The Passat now comes with LED headlights right across the range (with the exception of the entry-level S models) and VW’s App-Connect which lets you link your Smartphone (via USB) to the car and mirror its screen on the infotainment.
The Passat SE Business, R-Line and Attack now get heated front seats, and 3Zone Climate gets added to the standard equipment list on the SE Business, as does a colour multifunction display.
There is a price to pay for the extra equipment, but on the SE Business that’s just an extra £550 for what VW say is extra equipment worth £1,995.
VW also say that the price increase on the R-Line Passat gives the buyer £1,315 of ‘freebies’, on the Alltrack £1,000 and the GT £705. The Passat S doesn’t go up in price at all, meaning a ‘saving’ of £165.
As well as the equipment updates for the Passat, the 2018 VW Golf (and Estate) can now be ordered with the new 1.5 litre TSI EVO petrol engine with 128bhp, with a six-speed manual of seven-speed DSG gearbox.
