2019 Mercedes CLA caught on Video less disguised

The 2019 Mercedes CLA – the swoopy four-door coupe take on the new Mercedes A-Class – is caught on video less disguised as its launch get closer.

The latest generation of Mercedes A-Class cars kicked off earlier this year with the new generation A-Class reveal, and we got our first look at the new A-Class Saloon last month in China as the LWB version was revealed (the UK is expected to get the A-Class Saloon, but only in SWB).

The next instalment of the new A-Class story is likely to be the new CLA – a mini-me CLS – with its swoopy-coupe four-door looks, and a bit more panache than the A-Class hatch and saloon.

Although not expected to arrive until 2019, the new CLA has been caught on video on the road in Germany looking only mildly disguised, perhaps hinting it could be arriving this Autumn ahead of a 2019 launch.

Looking, unsurprisingly, like the love child of the new CLS and A-Class saloon, it’s a car which fills a niche we’re not entirely sure is filled anywhere else, although the growth in size of the new A-Class perhaps pushes the CLA further towards facing down the BMW 4-Series Grand Coupe.

Expect a more upmarket cabin than before, just as in the new A-Class, and a selection of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, powering the front wheels on lesser models and all four as you go up the new CLA price list, as well as AMG 35 and AMG 45 versions.
