2019 Mercedes GLE UK Prices and Specs announced

Prices for the new Mercedes GLE have been announced, with the GLE 300 d 4MATIC costing from £55,685 and GLE 450 4MATIC from £62,300. On sale in the UK now.

The new Mercedes GLE SUV arrived last month as Mercedes delivered a new SUV to take on cars like the Volvo XC90 and Lexus RX with a seven-seat option in a car which is very much a styling evolution, but with plenty of tech and new Mercedes interior.

Now, the new GLE is going on sale with, at least initially, a choice of a single diesel and single petrol model, with the 300 d 4MATIC costing from £55,685 and the GLE 450 4MATIC from £62,300.

The GLE 300 d 4MATIC comes with a 2.0 litre four-pot with 243bhp, 0-62mph in 7.2 seconds and official economy of 46.3mpg, and the 450 with a 3.0 litre six-pot with 48v EQ Boost, with 371bhp and an extra 21bhp from the EQ, enough for 0-62mph in 5.7 seconds and official economy of 33.6mpg.

Standard spec in the UK includes the MBUX with voice activation, 12.3″ instrument screen and 12.3″ media display, Blind Spot, 20″ alloys, LED headlights with active high beam, privacy glass, wood and Nappa leather, heated seats, park assist, climate and traffic sign assist.

The GLE 450 adds AIRMATIC air suspension to the spec as well as the seven-seat pack (it costs an extra £1,995 on the 300 d), and both models can be up-specced with additional ‘Packages’.

Premium Package (£1,995) adds Multibeam LEDs, Memory Package, Wireless charging and parking package including 360 camera, the Premium Plus Package (£4,295) adds Burmester Sound, nice smells, Keyless-Go and Panoramic roof.

A Tech Pack (£495) adds augmented Nav and smartphone integration, and the Tech Pack Plus adds MBUX Interior Assistant and HUD.

You can even add an Off-Road Pack (£1,695) which offers additional off-road modes, hill descent and underbody protection, and a Tow Pack (£1,150).

The 2019 Mercedes GLE is now on sale at Mercedes UK dealers, but first customer cars aren’t due until spring 2019.
