Land Rover are revealing the 5 door Range Rover Evoque at the L.A. Motor Show live on Wednesday and you can see it LIVE on Cars UK
You might think – quite reasonably – that we’ve already done a live reveal for the Range Rover Evoque. And you’d be quite right. A fair number of you watched Land Rover reveal the Range Rover Evoque at the Paris Motor show in September live on Cars UK. But that was the 3 door Evoque; the Evoque Coupe, if you prefer. Now it’s time for the 5 door Evoque.
Which begs the question: What’s the big deal about a couple of extra doors that warrants another reveal? And for most cars that’s a perfectly reasonable question. But the Evoque is a bit different; the changes on the 5 door are a bit more than just extra doors.
The 3 door Evoque is a style statement. It’s Land Rover proving they can bring a concept – the Land Rover LRX – to fruition without watering it down. And they’ve proved that and shown a new direction for Land Rover with a more fluffy-bunny, 21st century, eco-conscience Range Rover.
The 5 door Evoque is a more practical Evoque. It gets five doors, but it also gets more headroom, more shoulder room and a slightly less rakish appearance. But only slightly less rakish. The 5 door Evoque is still a very good looking car, as you have probably already seen with the 5 door Evoque video we ran last week.
