A motorist has snapped the elusive end of a rainbow on the middle lane of a stretch of the M25 in Surrey.
The end of the rainbow is the stuff of mythology; the place where leprechauns hide their pot of gold. Or so legend tells us.
But the truth – as is almost always the case with myth and legend – is rather more prosaic. For it seems that the rainbow ends in the middle lane of the M25 in Surrey, or at least it did when a motorist driving along the M25 snapped the rainbow – the result of a shower in sunshine – as it bounced colourfully off the tarmac.
The photo is great, but we fear for the repercussions for the driver who snapped this elusive image.
We’ve seen plenty of photos and videos of motorists speeding or larking about resulting in a knock on the door from Plod with a fixed penalty or court summons in hand. So it seems likely – because they have nothing better to do – that the Surrey Constabulary will be committing huge resources to track down the perpetrator of this heinous crime.
Fortunately for this motoring snapper, it seems he’s remaining anonymous, at least for now. The photo above comes from the Daily Mail and carries no credits, so we’re guessing the driver would rather it stayed that way.
And who can blame him?
Note: The lady who took the photo – who it appears was the passenger – has asked us to credit her efforts, which we happily do. Thank you, Janice M Thomas
