DRIVEN has had access to Christian von Koenigsegg and the Koenigsegg factory in Sweden for this 30 minute long look at all things Koenigsegg.

We tend to refer to Koenigsegg as men in a shed in Sweden, which might sound disparaging – but it isn’t.

It’s a big doff of the cap to an operation which, by any normal standards in the car world, is so small it couldn’t possibly do anything really innovative and ground breaking. But it does.

From a former military air base in Sweden, Christian von Koenigsegg creates cars with so much passion and skill it beggars belief. The beguiling Christian, who started Koenigsegg Cars when he was not much more than a boy, has now gathered around him a small team of equally passionate and innovative engineers to help make his imaginings reality.

From an engine with more power for its capacity than any other to carbon fibre skills the biggest car makers would kill for via simple, but astonishingly effective, Triplex suspension to curb squatting without upsetting their cars’ dynamics, Koenigsegg’s attention to detail – and willingness to do everything their way – is an inspiration.
