Yesterday we revealed that the new Peugeot 208 GTi was heading for this month’s Paris Motor Show ready for production, and now it seems it will be joined by its luxury sibling concept, also ready to go in to production – the Peugeot 208 XY.
Whereas the 208 GTi is all about perfromance, the 208 XY is all about luxury touches. There’s a chrome grill and a proliferation of chrome all round the exterior, 17″ multi-spoke alloys, special paint jobs (there will be six choices including the purple of the concept), lashings of leather, lots of toys and a multitude of personalisation options.
It looks like Peugeot will be offering the 208 XY with a range of engines from the more prosaic 208s, including the 1.6 e-HDi eco-lumps, 1.6 VTi and 1.6 THP. It also appears the 208 XY will get the same widened track the 208 GTi enjoys.
More at Paris, or when we get it.
