2013 is the 50th anniversary of the first Porsche 911, and Porsche are still celebrating with a new video showing all 7 generations of the 911.

Car makers do like to make the most of any anniversary they can hang a bit of PR on, and Porsche are no different.
But now, with just a few months of the 911’s anniversary left to milk the PR, Porsche has put together a video featuring all seven generations of the 911, happily wishing themselves a ‘Happy Birthday’.
Porsche introduces each of the generations of the 911 in turn and then creates a proper happy birthday rendition using the 911s as the orchestra. There’s even a new micro-site with 911 music games.
It’s a bit of PR fun, but 2013 has been a big year for the 911, with a 911 created by Facebook fans, a Carrera 4S just for the UK, the new 911 Turbo and Turbo S Cabriolet (and the 911 Turbo Coupe) and a new 911 GT3.
No doubt Porsche will have another big celebration for the 911 when it reaches 60, but its seems highly likely the Porsche 911 will be around for another 50 years.
By which time it will probably have a rear-mounted cold fusion powerplant.
